hey there, friend

hey there, friend

 I'm Tara -
the girl behind the camera

When you’re planning your wedding, it’s really easy to focus on the packages and portfolios. Those usually help dominate your decision making - BUT, I can’t stress enough how important feeling a connection with your photographer is. After all, you are with them on the most important day of your life, pretty much from start to finish. I cannot tell you how many times I have helped my couples get into dresses, tie their ties, find missing cufflinks, find missing bridal party members (they be wild guys) or how many nerves I have calmed. I’ve even had a bride borrow my earrings because she forgot hers! When I tell you I’ve got your back, I ain’t lyin. It all starts the minute you inquire.

That’s why its so important to me that my clients feel a connection with me. After every inquiry, I set up a phone call asap so we can start getting to know one another. You can’t get to know someones personality though a text or an email - maybe I’m old school. I feel so strongly about making sure my clients feel a sense of calm and ease with me. Timelines and schedules are great and have their place, but I will always prioritize your well being and ability to fully enjoy your day over constantly checking the clock and rushing you from place to place.

I’m passionate about storytelling, and creating beautiful and unique images that fully capture all the emotion of your wedding day. From the smallest detail to the wildest dance party, I’ll be right there with you.

my art is an overflow of the love i have for my family

I was born and raised in Southeast Pennsylvania and bounced around from small town to small town. I was never the kid with her head in a book. In fact, I kinda hated school. I can’t tell you how many times people would ask me in high school “so what are you going to do with your life?” - I literally had no idea, much like many of us. I just knew I wanted to be an artist, but I never knew how to turn that creativity into a career. So naturally, I got a job at an engineering firm and became a drafter. HAHA. I loved the people I worked beside but I hated the job. I knew it wasn’t the path I wanted for my life. Photography was something I always did as a hobby and truly loved and once my son was born, I decided to take it on full time. So now, in my 7th year of being a full time photographer, I can say with certainty that I know what I was destined to do. Pretty thankful for that.

If I’m not out taking photos I’m hanging out with my boys, my cute 7 year old, Rowan and my biggest supporter, my husband, Rob. I spend my summers gardening and my winters renovating my house over and over again. Seriously, ask some of my friends how many times I’ve repainted my livingroom alone. Needless to say, design and creativity finds me even in every season.

Speed date: I love to go thrifting. Schitt’s Creek and HIMYM are on repeat while I edit. I really hate cooking. I love brunch and drinking coffee in sweatpants with my best friend. Words of affirmation & physical touch are my love languages. I have the WORST sense of direction. I try to always do my part to protect our environment. My pronouns are she/her. Aries is my zodiac sign. Elder Emo. I’m Irish + Greek. I drink coffee like it keeps me alive. Sucker for dad jokes. Taking a walk is the best way to spend a warm day. Like a true millennial, I have way too many houseplants. Greece and Italy are at the top of my travel bucket-list.
